Net Market Fluidics Event: Sectorial Workshop

Weetwood Hall, Leeds, United Kingdom, 2 February 2017

What are the key barriers to exploiting nano and micro fluidics? What opportunities does this technology offer industry? What new developments are on the horizon?

All these questions and more will be answered during the NMF Sectorial Workshop being held on 2nd February at the University of Leeds, UK. The workshop will bring together leading academics in the fields of nano and micro fluidics, along with industrial partners who are looking for new innovations in this area. Companies already working in the area are invited, as are companies wanting to learn about the potential opportunities in many different market sectors from manufacturing to sensors and from printing to food production.

Key speakers include:

  • Professor Russ Harris (University of Leeds), How Manufacturing Research Opens Opportunities in Microfluidics
  • Dr Steven Abbott (Former R&D Director Macdermidd Autotype & Technical Consultant), Upgrade your knowledge base: sharing good nanofluidic science via open source apps in 2D, 3D and VR.
  • Dr Peter Docker (Diamond Light Source, UK): The use of acoustic and optical trapping in microfluidic systems to automate sample delivery for protein crystallography

The workshop will also give delegates an opportunity to network and to discover how this emerging area offers potential solutions to technical challenges faced by your business.

Net Market Fluidics' objective is to build a wide network of researchers, experts, and technology developers so we may better address the bottlenecks that are keeping micro and nano fluidics from reaching the market. We will be hosting workshops and attending conferences so we can build connections across these groups and foster as large a network as possible. We invite you to join these events and meet with the Net Market Fluidics consortium so we can understand your needs and help build a better market for micro and nano fluidics.
